Spineless Wonders is proud to present ‘Moon Orchard’, celebrating a range of Asian Australian voices based on the audiobook Moon Orchard and hosted by Happy Feraren. Happy is a Fillipino actor and playwriter with over fifteen years experience in improvisational theatre and has performed in cities around the world.

Join us to celebrate Asian Australian voices performed in varying formats, from prose to poetry to spoken word performance. Meet the authors that explore the challenges and joys of discovering identity through the human experience.

Hear contemporary LGBTQIA+ stories live. Expressing what LGBTQIA+ means today.

On May 20th, Queer communities and their allies spent a beautiful afternoon celebrating LGBTQIA+ stories at Green Square Library. Hosted by Ce Benedict, known for their podcast NB: My Non-Binary Life and as the quizmaster of Inqueersition at the Bearded Tit Hotel, everyone in attendance laughed and empathised with each others experiences of love, identity and self expression.

A special thanks to everyone who read their stories from the anthology, Queer as Fiction (Spineless Wonders, 2021), live, to Drag Kings Alli Sebastian Wolf and Ewin Trouble and actor Aisling Delahunt for attending!

Excitement for Lake Malibu
A Spineless Wonders collection, Lake Malibu and other stories by Su-May Tan has been selected by Aesop, Malaysia to be part of their Women's Library! The Women's library aims to empower women's literary voices and celebrate their success.
|
"Being an Australian brand in Malaysia, it is especially meaningful to me as I have such strong links to both countries," says Su-May. She continues, "You could even view Lake Malibu as a piece of craft that represents my view of the beauty and strength of Malaysian people."

Lake Malibu was a finalist in the 2021 Carmel Bird Digital Award and shortlisted for the Queensland Literary Awards 2023.
