In the 1990s, Kings Cross author and poet, joanne burns, wrote Australia Who, a satirical novella set in 2018. In her realisation, life is grim. The environment is decimated, beaches are privatised, and the government is punitive. While rebels are held in outback detention centre, a network of underground activists set out to mobilise the unemployed using new age technologies as weapons.

Supported by Australia Council for the Arts, filmmaker and dramaturg Pierce Wilcox and actor/director Eleni Schumacher collaborate to premiere their adaptation of Australia Who.

The performance will be directed by Elizabeth Nabben (The Readers, Belvoir Street) and will feature original music written and performed by composer, Tom Hogan.

Presented by Little Fictions Productions in collaboration with City of Sydney Late Night Library program.
